Description

The information is geared towards women with prior cesareans, currently pregnant or not, who are interested in learning about their options for future pregnancies.

We will discuss:
- risks and benefits of VBAC vs. repeat cesarean,
- the pros & cons of hospital vs out-of-hospital birth,
- how to select a truly supportive care provider,
- avoiding the “bait and switch” at 36 weeks,
- factors of uterine rupture,
- VBAC success rates,
- coping with unsupportive friends and family, and
- why select OBs are VBAC advocates.

In addition to me, a midwife and two childbirth educators will be present to share their experience and perspective.

The class is free.

I hope it’s okay- I posted this on two local parenting boards: Awesome AP Moms of Temecula Valley Meetup group and Cloth Diapering and Baby Wearing in the IE Meetup group.

Wendy, That is great! Thank you! Best, Jen

I’d love to be there! I am not pregnant, but just had a “failed” VBAC and for #3, I want everything totally different!!

I am 29 weeks pregnant (due date 4-24-09), feeling good and on the path to educating myself about vaginal birth following a complicated c-section almost 6 years ago with my first son who was breech. I am feeling very frustrated with my ObGyn’s (and her contracted hospital’s – Cedars Sinai, LA) over-precautious attitude towards a VBAC experience for me. From the first sign of labour, they will have me hooked up to a monitor and a catheter inserted in case of need for epidural/ emerg. c-section I am looking to find a broader spectrum of opinion out there. :-)

  • This is excellent of you. Spread the gospel sister. I hope I have my CCE in the next year, and I’ll be doing the same thing.
