I’m so excited about my upcoming presentation to Conscious Birth, Conscious Parenting next Saturday, October 16th from 11am – 1pm at Grace Mellman Library (41000 County Center, Temecula, CA 92591.)
I’ll be presenting a 90-minute excerpt from my five-hour class entitled “The Truth About VBAC.” Topics include:
- History of VBAC: From encouraged to “risky”
- Review of the latest American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists (ACOG) VBAC guidelines
- Informed consent or scare tactics, how can you tell?
- Uterine rupture: symptoms, factors, and rate
Space is limited, so please RSVP to littlepapoosebirthdoula at yahoo dot com.
This two hour event is free, but donations will be accepted at the door.
Handout Book & FAQ Cards Available for Purchase
“Excerpts from The Truth About VBAC” book is available for pre-purchase for $20 until Thursday October 14th at 6pm PST. Paypal payment accepted.
The day of the presentation, a limited number of copies will be available for $25 or you can place an order to have a copy mailed to you for $30. Cash or check accepted.
Included in the book:
- Presentation PowerPoint Slides
- 2007 VBAC & Cesarean Rates by Hospital for San Diego, Riverside & Orange Counties (this is the latest data available)
- VBAC Facts Bibliography
- Selected VBAC Facts articles
I make this book available because the class includes a lot of data and numbers. It is freeing for those attending to be able to sit back, relax, and absorb the information rather than concerning themselves with copying specific statistics and sources.
Books are printed on 100% recycled paper and are bound so that they can be easily stored on a bookshelf for quick future reference.
Sales have been closed.
Attendees of the lecture will be able to order a book on Saturday 10/16/10.
Also available for pre-sale and pick up on 10/16 (thus saving you money on shipping) is the VBAC Facts FAQ Card. Please place your order by Friday, October 15th at 6 PST for pick up on the 16th.
You can learn more about the FAQ card, as well as place an order to be shipped if you are unable to join us on the 16th, by clicking here.
Can’t attend? Donate!
If you are unable to join us in Temecula, but would like to support VBAC Facts, you can make a donation on-line. As many of you know, I have devoted substantial personal funds and thousands of hours of time researching birth after cesarean, maintaining the website, answering emails, attending the 2009 ICAN Conference and the 2010 NIH VBAC Conference, and developing handouts like Quick Facts (download the PDF) and American Women Speak About VBAC (download the PDF).
Hope to see you on the 16th!
