“Home birth is not for everyone but informed choice is. The patronizing statement, “home delivery is for pizza”, is unprofessional and has no place in the legitimate discussion. Some suggest making hospital birth more homelike.
If someone has told you that VBAC is illegal, they are either misinformed or they are intentionally misleading you for a variety of reasons. Ask them to show you the law. This is something you should be able to easily look up through a google search. You won’t find it because it doesn’t exist.
This is a great birth story, published with permission, of a woman who had a cesarean for “small pelvis” and then VBACed a larger baby at home! Since she is a neonatal nurse, it’s interesting to read why she chose HBAC and how she thinks her birth would have gone differently had she labored in a hospital.
Florida law states that a woman need not give birth in a hospital nor stay in the hospital for a specified period of time for her birth to be covered by insurance.
