A Personal Update and Announcement

Jen Kamel: Hello, hello. Welcome to The VBAC Facts® Podcast, I'm Jen Kamel, VBAC Facts® founder. And since 2007, our focus has been to provide accurate and objective information on vaginal birth after cesarean and repeat cesarean to parents, professionals, policymakers and the court so all decisions can be informed, ethical, and just.

I am so excited to be here for episode 21 of the podcast, and also I have an announcement for you.

Due to some personal events happening in my life, I'm going to put the podcast on hiatus. I know, I'm super bummed about it too. I absolutely love being here with you. I love interviewing our guests. I love sharing the facts, and this is really what needs to happen right now.

While the podcast is on hiatus, how can you work with us? How can you learn more about VBAC? Well, number one, remember that our professional membership and our online courses for parents are still available up on the website.

We have our professional membership for perinatal professionals, and while we are a nursing continuing education provider, I want to assure you that that doesn't mean that this program is only for nurses.

I specifically sought out for VBAC Facts® to become a nursing continuing education provider many years ago because I wanted to provide contact hours for not only nurses, but for midwives and doulas and childbirth educators.

You would be surprised how many different licensing and regulatory bodies accept nursing CEs. So by becoming a nursing continuing education provider, I was able to really cover the bulk of our audience which makes the administration on the backend way smoother.

We also have "The Truth About VBAC™ for Families," for parents who've had a C-section and want to learn more about VBAC.

I have my consulting calls for parents, professionals, as well as policy and legal teams. I started working on a couple new projects last week, so that is super exciting.

I really love working with educating policymakers as well as legal teams because the impact of those laws and rules can be so vast.

Finally, you can book a speaking engagement with us. I just was the keynote at InJoy's Fifth Annual Virtual Summit, which was awesome. I did a training for the Los Angeles County Department of Public Health. And I'd really love to reach more medical, nursing, and midwifery students because I think getting this information into their hands, in their early years, is so powerful.

We also have the blog and come join my email list and stay up to date on the latest VBAC evidence, VBAC Facts® events, and other interesting things that are going on that I notice while doing this work.
